Timothy Farrell and Melissa Curtis of UAA Honored With D3SIDA Recognition Award

November 1, 2022

UAA Sports Information Director Timothy Farrell and Assistant Director for Operations and Member Services Melissa Curtis received the 2022 Fall Division III and Division III College Sports Information Directors of America (D3SIDA) Recognition Award for their Title IX story on University of Chicago’s Rosalie Resch.

The selection committee of D3SIDA members chose Farrell’s feature titled, UAA Title IX Series: Rosalie Resch, University of Chicago Athletics, which was edited by Curtis.

The NCAA Division III and D3SIDA recognition award is a partnership between the Division III governance staff and D3SIDA to recognize the best work by athletics communication directors portraying the Division III identity and student-athlete experience. The recognition program is part of the Division III Branding & Promotions initiative. It seeks to honor the best work – including news releases, feature articles, videos, blogs and other materials – produced by Division III campus and conference athletics communication offices.

This marks the third time the duo has received the award. They also won in Spring 2021 for the special series, Conversations About Race and Racism, which ran from Aug, 18, 2000 through Apr. 8, 2021.

Farrell and Curtis received the Spring 2019 honor for the feature titled, University of Rochester Men’s Tennis: Diversity on an International Level.
